The task

Say what you want to accomplish in one sentence. “Help me turn these interview notes into a concise summary for my product team” is a useful starting point. It tells the assistant the input, output, and audience.

The context

Explain what matters. What is the reader trying to decide? What information is already available? What should the assistant avoid assuming? Put source material in a clearly separated section.

The shape of the answer

Specify the output you can actually use: a short memo, a comparison table, three possible approaches, or a checklist. Give length and tone constraints when they matter.

The check

Ask the assistant to flag missing information and distinguish what comes from your source material from its own suggestions. That request helps structure review; it does not guarantee accuracy. Check the important details yourself.
